ePLDT receives International Star for Leadership in Quality

As it prepares to celebrate its tenth anniversary, ePLDT continues to reap praises in the global arena as evidenced by the latest honor reaped by the country’s premier Information and Communications Technology (ICT) company.

ePLDT was recently named as this year’s recipient of the International Star for Leadership in Quality in the Gold category. This prestigious honor is bestowed to companies that demonstrated excellence in leadership in their respective industries as seen in increased market share and sustainability. They must also have gained high rankings on criteria based on the QC100 Total Quality Management (TQM) Model, which includes customer satisfaction, communication strategies, and adherence to the ISO 9000 Quality Management System standard and TQM.

Apart from topping the ratings, ePLDT also enjoyed the vote of participating former awardees, as it is a recognition given to leaders by leaders. Past winners worldwide include Plamex (Plantronics) from the USA , King Fahd Industrial Airport in Saudi Arabia , Reliance Industries from India , Alcoa Howmet Genervilliers from France, Quantum Automation (Asia) from Singapore , and QTech International from Australia .

The International Star for Leadership in Quality is given annually by Business Initiative Directions (BID), the leading private organization focused on promoting quality in leading companies across the globe. The selection process is done through several BID congresses held in various cities across the globe and attended by representatives from top companies from 118 countries. The official awarding ceremony will be held at the Palais des Congres Convention Hall in Paris , France this April and will be covered by global media outfits.

The award from BID comes in the heels of another honor received by ePLDT. The company was recently the recipient of the 2009 Philippines Frost & Sullivan Market Leadership Award in the Data Center Services Market, a recognition given based on research conducted by globally renowned growth partnership company Frost & Sullivan.
